Climate Change is the focus of Ripple Effect at the AVA Gallery and Anne Graaff talks us through this excellent and topical exhibition on the Sanlam Arts Round Up on Fine Music Radio.
Listen to the Sanlam Arts Round Up on Fine Music Radio FMR 101.3fm every Friday NOW at 17h30
Climate change and specifically water is an issue that this group of artists wanted to investigate as an urgent issue.
Discover why EITZ – Elephant In The Zoom is the name adopted by this group and how each collectively gave visual expression to their concerns.and the fundamental relationship with nature. Anne also refers to the opening address by Cormac Cullinan, environmental lawyer, author, speaker and advocate for ecological sustainability, who highlighted our inter-connectiveness with nature.
As part of an ongoing programme of events accompanying Ripple Effect, this Saturday, 22 October, Renee Ramsden will address water from a Jung and alchemy perspective. (Contact AVA Gallery for more information about this and other events – contact details below.)
The EITZ artists are Tracy Megan, Taryn Millar, Katherine Glenday, Josephine Grindrod, Anne Graaff, Mary, Anne Botha and Erica Elk.
