Concert Series Line-up January to June

Looking into 2018 the Concert Series  have some exciting concerts lined up, with two special collaborations.

In January the  Concert Series  will complement the UCT summer school hosted by Barry Smith, with Mozart as its theme. Barry will be giving lectures around Mozart’s string and chamber music from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 January. On Saturday 27 January they will host some of Cape Town’s new generation artists in a programme of wind and vocal music by Mozart, including a segment by the chamber choir VOX Cape Town.

The Programme

Tuesday 6th March,  collaborating with the UCT School of Music and featuring the incredible Signum Quartet (see photo) from Germany with Cape Town violist Xandi van Dijk. This avoids clashing with this year’s Stellenbosch International Piano Symposium taking place from 12 to 18 March at Stellenbosch University featuring a host of wonderful piano recitals which you would not want to miss.

14 April is South African ensemble Trio Esperanza featuring Liesl Stoltz on flute, Polina Burdakova on cello and Kerryn Wisniewski on piano.

26 May sees the ever popular Antonio Pompa-Baldi returning for a programme of song-themed piano works.

16 June violinist Nikito Bariso-Glebski and cellist Alexander Buzlov join forces with pianist Bryan Wallick for a programme of Romantic Trios by Beethoven, Brahms and Mendelssohn for a Winter Matinee at 3pm.
