Karel Nel will lead an exclusive curator-led walkabout of They Came and Left Footprints — featuring powerful works by Lucas Sithole and Cyprian Shilakoe, drawn from the Homestead and Bruce Campbell Smith Collections.
This is a wonderful opportunity to view this exhibition, bringing together these two artists that use the same type of aesthetic in their figures, They use these tall etiolated figures to look at their haunting narratives of solitude and disconnection that they carve and that they draw,
Led by Senior Curator Karel Nel, this unique guided experience will delve into the exhibition’s rich themes, artistic significance, and historical context — offering you a deeper connection to these extraordinary works.
