A large collection of art, ceramics, furniture and silver, valued at nearly R3-million, from the estate of the late Basil and Sue Robinson, will be sold as part of Stephan Welz & Co’s Fine Arts and Collectables auction.
The collection, built up over five decades by the Robinsons, owners of Ashbeys Galleries in Cape Town, contains 182 valuable works including South Africa’s most prominent painters, such as Stanley Pinker, Freida Lock, Wolf Kibel and Cecil Skotnes.
