The Artscape Spring Drama Season celebrates its 10th anniversary and features various plays. It is part of the Artscape’s New Writing Programme, which is devoted to the professional writing and production of new South African plays and involves more than 50 unsolicited scripts a year from playwrights writing in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa. A new leg of the programme is being introduced with the Artscape isiXhosa Classics, an annual theatrical adaptation of isiXhosa novels.

Red Bull Doodle Art is a global project, which challenges student artists to use their artistic skills to create their best doodle. The project will take place in about 50 countries, most of which will be sending their winning artist to the global gallery in Cape Town.

The second annual McGregor Poetry Festival takes place over three days and includes readings, informal talks, music events and workshops.
