The Cape Grace, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, announces a series of exclusive daily art tours, expertly curated by respected art curator Lezanne van Heerden, in an exciting addition to Cape Town’s 2025 art week and the Investec Cape Town Art Fair.
These tours will run from February 20 to 23, 2025, providing guests and art enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to engage with a thoughtfully selected collection of contemporary art in an elegant setting.
Lezanne van Heerden, recognised for her insightful curation and deep understanding of the art landscape, will lead participants through the collection displayed at Cape Grace, featuring the works of exceptional artists such as Maya Marx, Lulama Wolf, Galia Gluckman, Tafadzwa Tega, Nabeeha Mohamed, and Teresa Kutaka Firmino, to name a few.
- Guests will have the chance to interact with special guests from various galleries and engage directly with the artists themselves, enriching their understanding of the creative process and artistic expression behind each piece.
Showcasing the rich diversity of Contemporary South African Art and its Cultural Significance
The daily tours will highlight the narratives woven into the artworks, showcasing the rich diversity of contemporary South African art and its cultural significance. Each session offers an intimate exploration of the inspirations and stories that shape the featured artists’ work, allowing participants to delve deeper into the world of art and the curation of the Cape Grace art collection.
In addition to the art tours, the Cape Grace is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Norval Foundation, which will facilitate the loan of further artworks throughout the hotel. These works will complement the existing collection, creating a dynamic and immersive environment for guests to experience art in a new context.
The daily art tours at Cape Grace during the Investec Cape Town Art Fair represent a convergence of hospitality and artistic excellence, providing a unique platform to explore and appreciate the vitality of contemporary art.
