Explore Muizenberg’s quirky village, with its curious shops, studios and eateries, on an audio walk by actress and Muizenberg expert Coleen van Staden from Cape Town Tourism.
The walk starts at False Bay Station at 14h30 on Friday 1 May and meanders through parts of Muizenberg that suprise the most knowledgable Capetonians. It ends at the next stop, Muizenberg Station, where we’ll finish off with a drink or two. (Venue to be confirmed.)
If you’re coming from the CBD or any of the stops on the Southern Line, you’ll find us on the last carriage of the train that leaves from Cape Town Station at 13:32. We’ll also get a group together for the train back to town. We’re aiming for the 17:15 from Muizenberg, but there’s another at 17:57.
To download the walk ‘Muizenberg Like a Local’ in the Android or iPhone apps, follow these steps:
1) Install VoiceMap by going to bit.ly/voicemap (iPhone) or bit.ly/getvoicemap (Android)
2) Sign in or create an account
3) Select Cape Town from the list of cities
4) Then select Muizenberg Like a Local
5) Tap on the red download button that says Free. Allow ALL the files to finish downloading before you close the app.
6) When the download is finished, the download button will change from red to green, and instead of seeing the word Free, you’ll see the word Start. You’re ready to go.
