Anjali in Wonderland 7 – 9 July
Taare introduces Anjali in Wonderland – a brand-new dance interpretation of the Lewis Carroll classic! (See photo above)
The Indian dance troupe’s latest offering reimagines the experience of Wonderland through creative dance and a carefully selected musical score comprising many adored tracks from the Bollywood industry. The production uses Alice’s original adventures in Wonderland as a connecting thread to weave together a unique entertainment offering for the whole family!
Taare dancers, accompanied by guests from various other dance genres, breathe new life into an old tale through inspired choreography, new characters, and a romantic spin that is so true to any Bollywood classic. Join Anjali as she tumbles down the rabbit hole and is immersed in a fantastical world of delight – an over-the-top, truly magical adventure in Wonderland!
Swan Lake 12 – 23 July
The world’s most loved ballet Swan Lake will grace Cape Town’s prestigious stage. From the first immortal bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, Swan Lake beckons the audience to another world in this classic tale of good triumphing over evil. Be captivated by Prince Siegfried’s love for the Swan Queen Odette, the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in magical unison, glimmering swans and spectacular ballroom scenes. Magnificent sets and lavish costumes with Tchaikovsky’s timeless score performed by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and an international company featuring 60 acclaimed elite beautiful dancers from around the world.
10th South African International Ballet Competition 24 – 26 July
The 10th South African International Ballet Competition presented by Dirk Badenhorst, is the largest Ballet Competition in Africa and returns to the Artscape Theatre Centre for a hybrid event. Competitors are live on stage and online. 2023 will see the first-time addition of a choreographic category. The jury consists of both South African and international judges.

Mandisi Dyantyis Jazz Orchestra Saturday 29 July 2023 at 8pm
Mandisi Dyantyis and his newly formed “Mandisi Dyantyis Jazz Orchestra” will play an exclusive one night only performance under the direction of Professor Mike Campbell. The music arrangements have been exquisitely orchestrated, and some of Mandisi’s most beautiful songs have been give an extra graceful lift to another level.
Compositions from Cwaka and Somandla will feature in the night’s repertoire, with the support from the incredible 18-piece big band. The last show Mandisi played at Artscape was sold out, and this too will sell out. Get your tickets now. A once off experience, possibly never to be repeated again.
