John Kramer – ALL SQUARE – will feature a selection of his signature realistic paintings of shops and corner cafes, as well as some new and unexpected subjects united by their use of the square format. And it’s ALL happening at The Cape Gallery!
In some paintings, the square is used as a framing device, zooming into the facade of a building concentrating on vertical and horizontal shapes, defining the edges of the composition and creating a sense of structure, balance and order. In others, the square is incorporated into the design of the painting itself, forming the basis for geometric patterns and abstract shapes.
Throughout the exhibition, the square serves as a constant reminder of the fundamental building blocks of art and design. Its simple yet versatile form allows for endless possibilities, making it a compelling subject for the artist in this exhibition.
Kramer’s work is known for its meticulous attention to detail and ability to convey a sense of place and atmosphere. His realistic paintings are characterized by their bright, bold colors, composition and use of lettering, and have a timeless quality that resonates with viewers of all ages.
All Square – yet super cool!Â
