Using the format of a JUG, this exciting ceramics exhibition at Sarah Walters Ceramics Gallery will explore all that goes into making a hand- made jug.
From the very functional to the purely decorative, over ten potters from all over South Africa will be participating and focusing on the JUG.
This exhibition will also showcase the many making techniques available to the potter. On display will be hand built jugs, alongside jugs thrown on the traditional potter’s wheel. The exhibition will also investigate the huge variety of firing techniques that our potters use, everything from Earthenware to Porcelain, including Salt fired, Wood Fired, Reduction fired and electric fired jugs.
This should be a full and in depth look at all that is the JUG.
Louise Jennings has paintings of her jugs and hand-made tables made from recycled wood by Allan Lutge, which will complement the ceramics.
Strict Hygiene protocols will be enforced, only a few visitors at a time, and hand sanitizer will be available at the door. Please note that to avoid overcrowding, there will be no official opening. And you can also view form home: VISIT I Instagram
