‘I Love You, You’re Perfect , Now Change‘ staged by the Milnerton Players, is the second longest-running Off Broadway musical. This comedy musical has been described as ‘Seinfeld set to music’.
It’s a hilarious, heart-warming, laugh-out-loud celebration of the mating game in all its messy glory, incorporating everything you’ve ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws but were afraid to admit.
In a fast moving series of independent vignettes, with lightning quick costume and character changes, Christine Thonissen, Christian Marais, Fiona Tanner and Neil Leachman, four talented and experienced musical theatre performers, take us through the progression of relationships throughout the course of one’s life, from first date through marriage, child rearing, divorce and eventually funerals.
Delightfully quirky this witty show says all you have ever wanted to say, from the ‘too busy to date’ scenario to the ‘ tear-jerking cinema’ scene (him) to the ‘i’m no Babe’ and to meeting a mate at a funeral. You’ll be laughing all the way through, empathising with the characters and resonating with many of the scenarios – life and love – warts and all!
