Sculptor Right Mukore will be hosting a Youth Day Weekend Auction and Workshops at Motebello Design Centre on Saturday 14 June 2014.

Right Mukore hails from Shoshe in the Masingo province of Zimbabwe. He has been practicing as an artist for over 20 years. Currently he operates from an open-air studio at Montebello Design Centre, coined by some “a magical wonderland”.
In the spirit of “giving back” after a good season Right offers two workshops for children this Youth Day Weekend: kids up to 8 years old may join the artist to create a giant fish in the Gardener’s Cottage garden, whilst youngsters 9 years and up can sculpt their own small artwork at Right’s studio.
Both workshops are free of charge. Parents are welcome to make a reservation at the Gardener’s Cottage for brunch or lunch: 021 689 3158, or to wander around the Montebello studios.
Right sees deep into the heart of a branch of Jacaranda or a trunk of a Camphor tree to recognize a personality. He brings these characters – fish, angels, sometimes an entire family – to life through careful carving, polishing, shaving and sanding. From larger than life-size sculptures to small-scale functional art, Mukore’s spellbinding creatures will be on auction as a Youth & Father’s Day Special at his studio at Montebello Design Centre.
