UPDATE: the Gugulethu Jazz Festival was cancelled at the last minute.
The inaugural Gugulethu Jazz Festival is likely to give the acclaimed Cape Town International Jazz Festival a run for its money.
This two-day affair also features some big names in South African jazz: Jimmy Dludlu, Simphiwe Dana, Thandiswa Mazwai and Selaelo Selota. Like the Cape Town festival it embraces a broad definition of jazz, flavouring the line-up with Afro-pop superstars such as Mafikizolo, Mi Casa, Zahara, Zamajobe and Zonke, kasi soul crews The Soil and Sai & Ribatone, and neo-soul songstress Moneoa Nastashia.
