Visitors to Groot Constantia have been delighted by Heritage Month activities at Groot Constantia, based on the theme A Culture of Collaboration. Lila talks us through their collaboration with IZIKO Museums as well as Koena Art Institute and Cape Town Tourism – and what to expect on National Heritage Day.
- There’s the exciting exhibition focusing on ‘Celebrating the Riel in Art‘ that has attracted a lot of attention.
- Working with the Koena Art Institute, there’s a whole new range of merchandise at the Wine & Gift Shop.
- Themba and Liefie, the penguin mascots from Cape Town Tourism will be there with Thando, their mobile visitor information vehicle.
- Simon’s Restaurant and the Jonkershuis Restaurant have special treats on offer. Be warned – book ahead!
- Groot Constantia Visitors Route Experience, where one ticket gives you entrance into the Manor House and Cloete Cellar – both managed by the Iziko Museums of South Africa.
