Natural Affinities, a group exhibition, opens on Thursday, 4th June at The Cape Gallery in conjunction with First Thursday.

Seasonal changes often offer intervals to reflect on the concept of time. Pondering the ebb and flow of life stimulates an acute awareness of the natural phenomena that exist in the world, awakening the basic human desire to seek order.

Participating artists include:
Calla Beddow, Jenny Hyde-Johnson, Niël Jonker, Elbe Joubert Dömrose, Keiskamma Art Project, Christopher Langley, Louis le Sueur, Calvin Murphy, Sheila Petousis, Bridget Randall, Michele Rolstone,
Lyn Smuts, Gerbrand van Heerden

The exhibiting artists possess a keen sensitivity in observing structural plans and visible patterns that emerge from natural affinities, which develop conceptual associations over time. The subsequent selection of work represents distinctive visualisations depicting the power, vulnerability, simplicity and above all the beauty of nature.
