Meet Lindie Buiski and Marc Smith

The Nelson Mandela Legacy Exhibition and Education Programme at Cape Town City Hall won the first prize at the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport’s Cultural Affairs Awards. 

Lindie Buiski, Head of Environmental Capacity Building, and Marc Smith, CoCT Environmental Management Dept Heritage Education Officer, provide the background for this well deserved award.

Marc Smith introduces us to what the Nelson Mandela in Cape Town Museum is all about and then explains the significance of the Department of Cultural Affairs Award, which is a great moment for Cape Town. The exhibition connects Nelson Mandela to Cape Town, focusing on the man, the people and the city.

Lindie Buiski, who was involved since inception, tells us how the dedication to the curriculum plan informed the Nelson Mandela Legacy Exhibition. The Education Programme came first, followed by the exhibition.
