Nic Bothma, in his show, Off the Wire, at Erdman Contemporary, includes a homage to former President Nelson Mandela entitled A Statesman at Work.
The opening reception is on on Tuesday 3 June (6-8pm) and the opening address is by Denis Goldberg
Following the opening there will be ‘A focus on Photo-Journalism’ which is a a week long program of events:
Wednesday 4 June at 1 pm
Join Nic Bothma & Rodger Bosch for a lunch time talk, discussing the evolving nature of photo-journalism.
Thursday 5 June at 6 pm
Panel discussion with industry professionals – addressing the role of social media and it’s resultant effect on photo-journalism. Participants include Mike Hutchings, Ian Landsberg, Sharief Jaffer, Deryck van Steenderen, Ruvan Boschoff, Nic Bothma, Yazeed Kamaldien and Txumari Ezpeleta
Friday 6 June at 6 pm
Yazeed Kamaldien’s 30 minute documentary, Imagina na Copa (Imagine the Cup). Yazeed will be present for a short Q & A session after the screening.
Friday 6 June at 8.30pm
Live performance by Wrongman (band members include Roger Bashew, Guy Tillim, James Kibby and Paul Tizzard).
Saturday 7 June at 11 am
Join Nic Bothma for a walkabout of his exhibition.
