No 5 on Hudson was born in Cape Town from the Creative passion and vision of Sandy De Bruin, ex owner of Country Living and an Ex Miss SA and hence her focus on Women and Art in South Africa.
Combing style, passion and design , No 5 on Hudson curates established as well as emerging creative South African Artists and how art translates into our environment and space, how it fits in with design and our aesthetic living spaces.
Living and Traveling extensively abroad has influenced Sandy De Bruin’s focus, and made her even more loyal to local design and our wonderfully talented home grown artisans.
Sandy opened and ran the very well known brand COUNTRY LIVING in Johannesburg and closed to follow her husband’s career in London. This phase of her life gave her the time to re-look at slowing down the pace of life and finding a new appreciation in the arts. She took up her paintbrush and started to paint and all the wonderful and amazing people and artists she met inspired her to open No 5 on Hudson.
Spending her summers in Cape Town and summers in Europe allows her to grow her South African influence abroad.
No 5 on Hudson opens on Friday 15th June. Â
