Fusing the stree and the academy, and channelling the voices of the great masters – The Last Poets, Mafika Pascal Gwala , Lefiti Tladi and Mazise Kunene – through hip-hop rythms, the Vocal Revolutionaries juxtapose the historical fervour of black consciousness with episodic snapshots of contemporary culture.
