A festivity of music and fireworks adorn this year’s new year’s eve celebrations at the V&A Waterfront.
Multiplatinum-selling rockers Prime Circle, urban-Afro-pop favourites Freshlyground, eight-piece infectious ska/reggae crew The Rudimentals and jazzy electro-swing group GoodLuck make up the genre-surfing musical line-up at the Waterfront’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. The party gets started in the early evening with verbal jousts by comedians Rob van Vuuren and Martin Evans and gymnastic street antics by the Zip Zap Circus. Then it’s over to The Rudimentals and Freshlyground to warm up the crowd with their vibey brass rhythms and upbeat vocal grooves before Prime Circle rock the count-down. Finally, the evening culminates in an eruption of colour as fireworks light up the Bay at midnight.
