Old Castle Brewery Building

The Castle Brewery was completed in 1901 to serve the huge demand for beer created by the Boer War and for many years the complex was the headquarters of SA Breweries.

Restoration started from 1982 onwards

Supervising the restoration was William Otten who was keen to restore and modernise the building with the intention to let out space to the creative community who need studio type premises with facilities for exhibiting work in the centre. The studios are equipped to provide for a work/living environment.
