Sanlam celebrates sixty years collecting and showing South African art in 2025. With holdings dating from the late nineteenth century to the present, the Sanlam Art Collection constitutes an historically representative sample of South African art. Building on its strengths, Sanlam continues to acquire works of historical importance and significant images by emerging contemporary artists.
A selection of these works is regularly exhibited in the Sanlam Art Gallery at the Sanlam Head Office in Bellville, which is open free of charge to the public. Travelling themed exhibitions from the collection which travel to various centres and arts festivals in South Africa, are organised on a regular basis.
