This neighbourhood restaurant serves up home cooked African food in Ciki’s very own backyard in Khayelitsha. Ciki makes the food herself and Ciki’s Eatery has been receiving praise and rave reviews from both locals and visitors. Their traditional food is beautifully presented and their excellent service is securing their place as one of Khayelitsha’s favourite new hot spots.
It was a stroke of genius for Ciki and her family to convert their driveway into a neighbourhood eatery. The walls have been beautifully decorated and the décor is welcoming and playful. You’ll feel like you’ve come home to mom’s cooking as Ciki makes all the food herself. Their fans have been praising the taste and the presentation of their magnificent food ever since the restaurant opened in 2018.
Their menu changes daily so it’s best to call ahead to ask what you can expect on the day of your visit. Some of the delicious offerings include favourites like samp (with their secret ingredients), beef, Umleqwa (hand-raised chicken), township-style spinach, steamed bread, ulusu (tripe), butternut and chakalaka.
They also host events and do takeaways and serve Khayelitsha’s Finest Wine. Khayelitsha’s Finest Wines currently offers a petit verdot rosé, a chenin blanc, and a mourvedre. The delicious small batch wines are available from some Khayelitsha venues, including Rands Cape Town. They are also available to order directly through Facebook or Instagram, and make for amazing local gifts. Contact: Lindile Ndzaba C 073 081 3691
