Hop on over to the V&A Waterfront’s Amphitheatre for a jam-packed line-up of activities this Easter season.
Smaller visitors can meet the Easter Bunny and show some animal love at the Petting Zoo, while adults can get a heads up on what’s hot and what’s not in fashion or put their general knowledge to the test with rapid-fire game shows.
The ever-popular Petting Zoo will return to the V&A Waterfront, giving younger visitors the chance to cuddle up to their favourite furry friends. Situated at The Watershed, opposite the Two Oceans Aquarium, from 10am to 5pm from Saturday, 4 April to Sunday, 12 April, the Petting Zoo is open to children of all ages. Entrance is affordably priced at just R20, making it the perfect way to entertain the kids this Easter.
Fashion lovers will be given a preview of autumn and winter’s hottest trends as the WearSA Fashion Show showcases locally-designed fashions on Saturday, 4 April from 3pm. Free to attend, this South African brand of t-shirts, various clothing and accessories aims to support local communities through their support of the local fashion industry.
Wander down to the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre on Friday, 3 April and Sunday, 5 April and meet the Easter Bunny in person. Beginning at midday each day, the festive Easter celebrations include interactive dancing, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny and Easter egg decorating crafts, all free-of-charge.
Easter excitement continues on Friday, 3 April and Sunday, 5 April to Friday, 10 April, with the fun and fast-paced Win It in a Minute Game Show, beginning at 1.30pm at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. Just like the popular TV show, each contestant will partake in a number of challenges, each having less than a minute to ‘win it’!
Rounding off Easter celebrations at the V&A Waterfront, it is finally time for all disco divas and dudes to put on their dancing shoes. From Monday, 6 April to Friday, 10 April, kids will be invited to come onto stage and make a disco crown before the dancing begins in the Disco Divas and Dudes dance activity at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. Divas and dudes can join in by copying the dancers on stage and revelling in a variety of musical games from midday onwards.
