Rescreening of Camino de Santiago films in aid of StreetSmart SA

Back by popular demand, in aid of StreetSmart SA, at the Labia Theatre is the intimate drama, The Way, starring Martin Sheen, and the inspiringly beautiful travelogue, Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago.

Both films, set on the famous Camino de Santiago in Spain, which draws people from all over the world on an epic pilgrimage every year.

  • The Way will be shown at 13h45 on Saturday, 12 May, followed by
  • Walking the Camino at 16h00 on Sunday, 13 May 2018.

StreetSmart SA

StreetSmart SA is an organisation dedicated towards helping street children rebuild their lives through public donations with the support of a network of restaurants, accommodation establishments, and wine tasting centres throughout the Western Cape and Gauteng.

StreetSmart SA is a registered Public Benefit Organisation as well as a Non-Profit Organisation and funds are primarily raised by participating restaurants, accommodation establishments, and wine tasting centres, adding a voluntary R5 donation to the bill.

Every cent raised in this way goes towards social and educational upliftment projects for street children.

The organisation was set up by a group of concerned Capetonians under the patronage of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and comprises resourceful board members representing business and the hospitality and tourism industries. Similar StreetSmart organisations also run independently throughout the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Vancouver and the Netherlands.
