Rethinking Irma SternĀ is an exciting project with Grade 11 Visual Art & Design learners across the province that the UCT Irma Stern Museum has partnered with the Western Cape Education Department over the past three years.
The project, titled Rethinking Irma Stern, has inspired students to engage critically with the work of Irma Stern, creating their own artworks and designs in response to her collection. For this initiative, all WCED Grade 11 Visual Art and Design learners were invited to visit the Irma Stern Museum or view the museumās website, to analyse, re-think and re-interpret the work of Irma Stern in an art or design piece of their own. Some of these learners had the pleasure of attending the museumās guided tours and practical workshops.
The exhibition will be opened to the public from 28 August ā 28 September during museum opening hours. Free entry for learners, teachers and family.
Definitely something to look forward to!
