International Cheesecake Day – Wine & cheesecake pairing with Skilpadvlei
30 July | 12:00 – 13:00 | 13:30 – 14:30 | 15:00 – 16:00
R30pp
Join Rupert Museum for a wine & cheesecake with Skilpadvlei, as they celebrate International Cheesecake Day on 30 July!
The farm derives its charming name from the legendary colony of tortoises that was found in the vlei in the 1800’s. The beautiful piece of land was dubbed Skilpadvlei and has been in the hands of the Joubert family since 1917.
You will be tasting:
- Sauvignon Blanc 2022 A light and easy drinking white wine with a well-balanced acidity. Tropical fruitiness with subtle green notes and figs on the nose, following through to the palate. This is paired with fresh kiwi cheesecake.
- Pinotage Rose 2021 The fresh & fruity rosé embodies the art of winemaking. This Blanc de Noir style has a linear nose that offers notes of musk and soft tropical fruit. This rosé is paired with soft musk and guava cheesecake.
- Merlot 2020 This wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Aromas of blackberries & plum notes filled with soft spice brining layers full of complexity and silky tannins on the palate. We pair this wine with Biltong and blueberry cheesecake.
- ML Joubert 2020 50% Cabernet Sauvignon / 50% Merlot. This Bordeaux blend was matured in oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is beautifully balanced with berry fruit flavours that lingers on the palate. ML Joubert is named after Willie (the current owner’s great grandfather), Marthinus Lourentius Joubert. This is an elegant wine with a lot of dark fruits and deep flavors. We pair this with dark chocolate shavings and blackcurrant jelly.
The tasting takes 60 minutes and there are 3 time allocations:
12:00 – 13:00 | 13:30 – 14:30 | 15:00 – 16:00
A R30 booking fee secures your seat. Please note this booking fee is exclusive to the Rupert Museum. Â [Only available for over 18 years]
