A Selection of Drawings and Paintings from 2008-2013 by Stanley Hermans is on exhibition at the Irma Stern Museum.
“Broad themes of transition, transformation and restructuring that might be in evidence in this selection of improvisations (from 2008 to 2013) are less a consequence of intent than the happy outcome of attempts at self-expression that, ever hopefully, might lead to results of conviction, originality and purpose” reads the press release.
It’s been some time since Stanley Hermans has exhibited and the image attached indicates that the work resonates with that distinctive flourish which one associates with this artist.
A walkabout with the artist on Sat 1 March at 11am provides a wonderful opportunity to explore this new body of work.
