The SuperFile Art Tech festival will officially be opened by astronaut-artist Dr. Sian Proctor, the first African American Female mission pilot. This will be by invitation only.
Our Better Nature
Adding to the excitement, the opening ceremony will also feature the announcement of the winners of the V&A Waterfront’s Our Better Nature essay and poetry contest. These talented individuals will be recognized for their exceptional contributions to the theme of nature and sustainability.

This show engages the public into an interactive voyage on our planet and into our solar system. This is a free event, open to the public.

Our Better Nature Art Exhibition
A meaningful art exhibition in collaboration with the V&A Waterfront around the theme Sustaining Our Seas and Skies runs from 15 – 30th August 2024. Be captivated by Dr. Dylan McGarry’s unveiling and challenging talk, What is Artivism? This mesmerizing multimedia presentation promises to be an unforgettable exploration of art’s role in activism. Dr. McGarry, an internationally awarded trans-disciplinary PhD in Environmental Education at the Environmental Learning Research Centre (ELRC) at Rhodes University in South Africa, and affiliated with the Social Sculpture Research Unit (SSRU) at Oxford Brookes, is also a writer, filmmaker, zoologist, marine biologist, and environmental scientist.
The talk will be followed by a free reception, offering a perfect opportunity to discuss the evening’s insights and network with fellow attendees.

Fynbos Spirits
