Dance for All has launched a Thundafund campaign for DFA’s end of year performance Imibulelo (In Gratitude from Us to You).
To reach the tipping point they must reach R60 000 as soon as possible. Imibulelo (In Gratitude from Us to You)
The diverse and inspiring two-hour production showcases about +/- 150 of Dance for All’s talented students with a variety of styles, being performed by students ranging from juniors to young adults, includes Ballet, Contemporary, African, Flamenco, Jazz and Hip Hop.
DFA’s students in this production are from the Specialised Programmes at the home base in Athlone, the outreach areas of Nyanga, Gugulethu, Khayeltisha, Delft, Philippi, Paarl, Kenilworth, and the Rural Outreach areas of Montagu and Barrydale.
The dance items have been choreographed by Dance for All (DFA) teachers and choreographers: Allison Hendricks, Hope Nongqongqo, Lorraine Ndindwa, Louise Coetzer, and volunteer teachers and choreographers Anderson Carvalho and Ché Adams have added richly to the repertoire.
Following the great success of DFA’s performance of Kaleidoscope at Artscape in June this year, this production illustrates the ongoing growth, development and maturity of the students who are carrying DFA forward into the next exciting era.
