Keen to get an early start to your New Year’s Eve celebrations? Earthbox’s monthly Sunday Session in collaboration with Drum Gin falls on NYE and they’re setting the mood with DJ Skai Lounge. Get a taste of his Afrofuturist Electronica and if you can imagine yourself touching the earth as time shifts, join in for a late afternoon session in the Chamber and on the EARTHBOX lawns. Drum Gin & Tonics as well as a selection of Lourensford wine and soft drinks will be for sale.
Equipped with ethnic rhythms and lush dreamy textures, as a producer Skai Lounge is driven to predict the future with his music through an African lens. Ambient was at the forefront of his earlier works, although as he matured in his personal life – that affected Skai Lounge’s artistry as he learned more about his history and began embracing it through his craft. With influences ranging from Sango, ODESZA, George Fitzgerald, and even Shimza… He’s created a brand of Afro house that has a psychedelic touch.
