Nicholas Ellenbogen opens with his hit series, Raiders, at a new theatre space in Rosebank.
Raiders has had sold-out houses for 24 years at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. This year’s instalament is Raiders: The Whisky Trader. And it follows on in its delectable and hilarious theatrical adventure style. Ellenbogen’s foil is Ella Gabriel. Expect a comedic romp and a lively interactive exchange with the audience!
Synopsis: Professor Lalaphanzi, world authority on the history of the Eastern Cape uncovers some interesting facts about the Hepburn family, the ancestors of flying ace Salty Hepburn. This is a happy tale of a woman escaping the horrors of class and snobbery in rural England, for the wide open spaces of Africa. Theatre of images and celebration.
Raiders arrival in Cape Town also marks the opening of the Ellenbogen family’s latest playhouse, the Rosebank Theatre. That’s very good news for Cape Town.
