A cooperative of 14 Western Cape Upcycle Designers using a variety of junk items to create Artworks and Decor, is easing the landfill burden.

The collective of 14 work under the brand name of Too Good To Waste.  The group was established in 2012 with the support of the DTI and curated by Eva Ploder with funding from the German Government.

New Innovation to be Green:  Through participation at trade shows both locally and internationally the concept of recycling/upcycling design is slowly being recognised as a long term Design Ethos and not just a passing trend.  Too Good To Waste Designer Items have a Wow Factor and are Unique to South Africa. “Our mission is to encourage a new awareness in the consumer market to buy and support local recycled handmade items made in and around Cape Town”.

The Too Good To Waste team represents a variety of communities living in and around Cape Town.  TGTW is made up of 14 vibrant like-minded Eco-conscious Artists sharing a passion for sustainability, design, art and recycling. “Our passion is trash.  We utilize and work consumer waste into unique top quality products that beautify both home and work spaces”.
