The Two Oceans Aquarium Online Store opening reinstates online sales of Aquarium memberships, tickets and conservation donations via its website , during the period in which the Aquarium is temporarily closed to the public. Memberships and tickets sold during this time will be valid once the Aquarium is able to reopen according to government regulations.
Here’s the good news about the Two Oceans Aquarium Online Store
Over the past 25 years, the Two Oceans Aquarium has proven to be much more than a place that holds great beauty and wonder for its visitors. The Aquarium has grown into one of Cape Town’s best-known tourist attractions, with dedicated and passionate staff who bring the underwater world to light. But the Aquarium also serves a higher cause: to save the oceans by creating awareness, inspiring passion for the well-being of our seas by supporting ongoing education, conservation and marine research.
The Two Oceans Aquarium has always had incredible support from South Africans, Capetonians and international ocean enthusiasts. Through social media this support has been shown on multiple levels and has been incredibly heart-warming and uplifting to the staff of the Aquarium. The opening of the sales of membership and advance entrance tickets aims to create a tangible conduit to show support of the Aquarium’s work.
“Many of our wonderful friends and fans have asked us how they can support us during the national lockdown. The Aquarium does not receive government funding and so our operational expenses – which are high and ongoing, considering the life-support systems and essential staff required to look after our animals – are normally covered by our admissions and annual memberships. The best way to support us right now is to become a member or to purchase day tickets, which can be enjoyed once we reopen,” said Ingrid Sinclair, Marketing manager of the Two Oceans Aquarium
Through the advance purchasing of memberships and entrance tickets, which can be redeemed once the Aquarium reopens, supporters, friends and fans of the Aquarium can contribute to the continued conservation and education work that is central to the Aquarium’s mission.
Annual memberships purchased during this time will be valid for a year (unlimited visits during the year) from the date of activation and the validity of online ticket purchases will only begin once the Aquarium has reopened.
The Two Oceans Aquarium will remain closed until government regulations permit its reopening. Once reopened, the Aquarium is sure to again enthral and mesmerise its visitors with magnificent exhibits and wonderful experiences. “The Aquarium has been a constant in Capetonians’ lives for nearly 25 years, and while what we look like in the future may be a little different, one thing we are certain of is that we will be back to open our doors so that our beloved locals can discover the absolute joys and wonders of the underwater world,” said Sinclair
As past and future visitors to the Aquarium, know that we hope to #SeaYouSoon and thank you for your continued support.
Please note:
Entrance tickets will be valid for 90 days from the date on which the Aquarium reopens and people will have 90 days to activate their memberships from the date on which the Aquarium reopens.
