Viennese Classic Concerts: Cape Philharmonic toasts 2015

The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates 2015 with two Viennese Classic Concerts on Saturday and Sunday – 10 and 11 January.

Let the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Richard Cock transport you to Vienna on January 10 and 11 at 6 pm at the Cape Town City Hall.

These popular concerts, based on the fabulous New Year’s concerts by the Vienna Philharmonic in the city of music, will offer you a selection of light classes like the waltzes of the Johann Strauss, father and son, some with Cape Town City Ballet dancers and some with singers Magdalene Minnaar (soprano) and Lukhanyo Moyake (tenor).

Imagine you are in Vienna with the Emperor Waltz, the Blue Danube Waltz and the Fledermaus Overture, or the Radetsky March and the glorious Liebesleid played by CPO associate concertmaster Patrick Goodwin. Click your fingers to the Espana Waltz or skate to Les Patineurs Valse!

There’s no better way to toast the New Year.

NOTE: because there will be no parking on the Grand Parade on Saturday, avoid Darling Street and please use street parking around the City Hall.  There will be added security in this area.

WHERE: Cape Town City Hall, Darling Street, Cape Town 8001

TICKETS:  from R75 at Computicket or Artscape Dial-A-Seat on 021 421 7695.
