To showcase how a community can make waves of a different kind – Muizenbergers, have over the last few months collaborated, created and will celebrate from 9am 5 October to 6pm Sunday 12 October by showing there is much more to Muizenberg than just the beach and surfing!
What started as a Street Festival in Palmer Road, in 2008, has now evolved into The Muizenberg Festival 2014 covering the area from the border of St James all the way to Vrygrond. This will become an annual event that will grow in partnerships, participation, location and much more to ensure sustainability, local economic growth but most important, celebrations of a community making it happen for them! As an official World Design Capital project, #WDC244, the Muizenberg Festival already is a paradise of possibilities, with more than 50 projects sprouting from the process.
During the week long line up of events that will surprise and excite every one of all ages with the wide variety of events planned – in known and new venues, on streets and homes from carnival parades, educational, entertainment, exhibitions, recreation and markets.
Get out your walking shoes, your party hats, and your purses and join in the festivities!
11 & 12 Oct the Muizenberg Pavilion and surrounds will be transformed into a glorious clownistic carnival! Don’t miss it!
