Cape Town, currently the holder of the 2018 “World’s Leading Festival & Event Destination”, has been nominated to retain its title as the ‘World’s Leading Festival and Events Destination’ at the 2019 World Travel Awards, set to take place at Muscat, Oman in November.
The nomination follows the announcement at the Africa & Indian Ocean World Travel Awards in June this year where Cape Town was voted “Africa’s Leading Festival and Event Destination” for the second consecutive time. Cape Town is nominated alongside other leading global event cities including Glasgow, London, Moscow, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Danang (Vietnam) and Guayaquil (Ecuador).
