The 2024 Variety Gala 🎶 Celebrating 30 Years of Democracy is a celebration by the CAPE TOWN PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA in collaboration with ARTSCAPE and all the associated arts companies.
The gala is dedicated to 30 years of democracy in South Africa.
Featuring Cape Town Opera, Cape Town City Ballet, Jazzart, Unmute, Elvis Sibeko, Zip Zap Circus and the CPO Afri-Arts Choir.
The soloists include:
Tarryn Lamb, Edith Plaatjies, Craig Lucas, Loki Rothman, Zimbini, Vuvu Kumalo, Talitha Luiters and strength act Oleksii and Leda.
So, you can expect to hear opera (Cape Town Opera), see some dance (Cape Town City Ballet, Jazzart Dance Theatre, Unmute, Elvis Sibeko) and an act by the Zip Zap Circus. Singers and choirs include the CPO Afri-Arts Choir, Craig Lucas; Craig Lucas; the strength act with Oleksii and his new partner Leda is back.
The orchestra under the baton of Brandon Phillips will perform a new symphonic arrangement of greatest hits by the one and only David Kramer!
MC Alan Committie will keep you in stitches, leading you through the programme.
