Cellist Alexey Stadler will be partnered by Francois du Toit in the recital at the Baxter Concert Hall on Saturday, September 16, at 8 pm.
The 26 year old Russian has performed across Europe as a soloist as well as in chamber ensembles with artists including Cape Town favourite Lukas Vondracek.
Winner of the 2012 TONALi Grand Prix in Hamburg, Alexey Stadler caused one sensation after another after his recent recent debuts at BBC Proms under Vasily Petrenko, with San Francisco Symphony and Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, both with Vladimir Ashkenazy.
For Stadler’s first recital in Cape Town he will team up with leading South African pianist François du Toit for a programme of Schumann, Brahms, Debussey and Shostakovich.
