Brilliant South African crossover pianist Charl du Plessis brings his popular “Baroqueswing” Trio for its Cape Town debut to Christ Church Constantia on Sunday 5th November at 3pm.
Frequently heard on Fine Music Radio, this trio has released 7 award winning albums, 2 DVDs and has toured extensively in SA, Europe and Asia. In 2016 they became Claves Recording Artists, with a contract for a series of Baroqueswing albums on the Swiss recording label Claves. They have been awarded SAMA, Ghoema and Fiësta Awards for Best Instrumental Album.
“Baroqueswing” Trio Programme
This programme is entitled “Baroqueswing 3” and will feature works by Bach, Handel and Gluck with new arrangements for jazz trio. The members of this unique trio are Steinway Artist Charl du Plessis (piano), Werner Spies (double bass) and Peter Auret (drums).
