The National Arts Festival Online (08 – 18 July)
The National Arts Festival is cutting its cloth to fit the times with a smaller hybrid Festival that allows audiences the opportunity to access a full programme of theatre, dance, comedy, visual art, music, jazz and more – online or live. The Very Big Comedy Show unites live performances in three cities (Cape Town, Johannesburg and Makhanda) via a stream which will be presented online too.

The legendary Billie Holiday, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, spent much of her career being adored by fans across the globe, all while the Federal Department of Narcotics targeted her with an undercover sting operation led by black Federal Agent Jimmy Fletcher, with whom she had a tumultuous affair. Inspired by her life story, the biographical musical drama intimately examines her struggles with addiction, fame and heart-breaking love.
