Lynelle Kenned and Stefan Lombard

A musical journey awaits you when Lynelle Kenned and Stefan Lombard perform at the Norval Foundation  on Sat 9 October 2021

Singer Lynelle Kenned and pianist Stefan Lombard will present a musical journey at Norval Foundation in Tokai. The much anticipated once-off performance will take the audience through the worlds of opera, traditional and contemporary art songs and melodies from the musicals. The intimate recital includes popular classics and local gems from Handel and Mozart, to Lloyd Webber.

As a duo Kenned and Lombard have long shared a special connection and they are firm favourites among local audiences. Their collaboration started in 2014 with the UK tour of Cape Town Opera’s Showboat. Subsequently they have jointly worked on various productions including David Kramer’s Orpheus in Africa, Valentines under the Stars, Divas Unite, Cape Philharmonic Orchestra Community Gala concerts and similar popular orchestral showcases. Over the years the versatile couple has developed a diverse repertoire suited to a variety of musical events from soirées in private homes, to grand fundraisers and opulent concerts performed under the stars in the Namib Desert. At the start of the pandemic they were among the first performing artists to present a live stream show (as opposed to a pre-recorded one), encouraging many others to follow suit and combat the void left by closed concert and theatre venues.

In Concert at Norval Foundation – Lynelle Kenned & Stefan Lombard, with Lombard on a stunning Fazioli sponsored by Ian Burgess-Simpson Pianos. Fazioli’s range of grand pianos offers the characteristics universally recognised as the most advanced and best suited for the creation of the modern concert piano, producing a powerful yet expressive sound, balanced and responsive to the pianist’s touch.

The concert will also be live-streamed through Penny Lane Studios, with details through the Quicket link.
