AD-Reflex, the award-winning artist duo, Johan Conradie and Karl Gustav Sevenster, was formed in 2015. On Sanlam’s Arts Round Up, they speak about their working relationship and inspiration for their current show Trade Off at Deepest Darkest Gallery.

The works are a whole ‘palimpsest’ of human effort and history. In ancient Greece, a ‘palimpsest’ was a parchment written upon twice, provoking the idea of vanishing words, memories, and stories, and implying a process of layering and retrieving. They discuss this layering and what inspired this particular exhibition.
