The third annual Unity on the Square concert featuring some of the Mother City’s top musicians on one stage and the City of Cape Town is a proud supporter!
Emo Adams, Youngsta CPT, Jack Parow, Kurt Darren, Early B, Loukmaan Adams, Jimmy Nevis, Paxton Fielies and NV Funk among others will entertain crowds on Greenmarket Square on Saturday 16 December 2023.
For R200, you can join scores of Capetonians and visitors for a musical experience celebrating artistry and diversity aimed at promoting social cohesion. Children under 12 get in free (these tickets are obtained at the door and limited to four per family).
In its third year, Unity on the Square aims to be more than just a musical festival but intends to be
- a platform for artists to earn a living and
- serve as a marketplace for traders to showcase their crafts, merchandise, and culinary delights, contributing to community livelihoods. Unity on the Square is joining forces with Guga S’Thebe to provide an opportunity for crafters at the Langa-based cultural centre to showcase and sell their work during the event.
‘This line up is the cream of the crop of local artists and entertainers. You would be hard pressed to name any other events where you get to watch the best local acts perform live at that cost. What makes this event more special is that it is aimed creating opportunities for local artists and the City of Cape Town is proud to partner with an initiative that seeks to revitalise the local performing arts while also providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security Alderman JP Smith.
Event organiser will also offer a workshop series to Cape Peninsula University of Technology to students on practical knowledge and skills in event management, permit processes, budgeting, and securing funding for events.
A GREAT way to celebrate the Day of Reconciliation!
