Meet Assistant Curator Donovan Mynhardt

On the Arts Round Up, Donnavan Mynhardt, Assistant Curator at Rust-en-Vrede Gallery + Clay Museum, convinces us to get to see the four new exhibitions opening on Saturday 10 August at their special heritage home in Durbanville.

Donavan outlines the 4 exhibitions, The 2 solo exhibitions are by artists Craig Cameron-Mackintosh and the other by ceramic artist Martin Swart. ‘Lounge’ is a group exhibition and Vetplant is a collaboration by Catherine Brennon and Adele Sherlock. All are varied in terms of application, technique and subject matter, yet all have a touch of nostalgia.

Craig Cameron-Mackintosh who was the 2019 Portrait Award winner, looks back on his travels and the work incorporates post cards and maps.
Martin Swart reflects on his career over the past 22 years.
Lounge is an ode to relaxation, whether lounging by the pool during summer or curling up in front of the fireplace during winter.
Vetplant, in the Cube features the work of Catherine Brennon working in ceramic and Adele Sherlock creating skeletal forms in porcelain. (see photo above)
