Pianist Christopher Culpo will perform a solo concert at the Spin Street Gallery on Friday September 13th at 19:00 and 20:30..
The program will weave together works by Jobim, Coltrane, Strayhorn, Monk, Davis, Culpo, and others.
Culpo is a versatile performer and composer whose artistic vision spans the realms of contemporary jazz, contemporary classical music, and free improvisation. A graduate of The Juilliard School, his compositions traverse diverse genres, from chamber and symphonic works to vocal and operatic pieces, as well as scores for dance, theater, and silent films.
Christopher is American-French, who has been living in France since 1991. As a performer and composer, Culpo lies at the confluence of contemporary classical music, jazz, and free improvisation. He has written chamber and symphonic music, vocal and opera, for the dance and the theatre, and has composed and improvised music for silent films.
