Artists Fadiel Hermans and Jaret Loggenberg feature in the group exhibition that celebrates 18 months since The Artists Gallery was opened in Cape Town by Barbara Lenhard.

Jaret explains that the 18 month birthday was an opportunity to share with the artists the success The Artists Gallery has enjoyed since opening 18 months ago. She was one of the artists whose work was shown by Barbara Lenhard who was doing pop-up exhibitions of South African artists all over the world. She convinced Barbara that she should be showing this work back in South Africa as well. This lead to Barbara establishing The Artists Gallery at 34 Bree Street.
Fadiel is also one of the artists who has been involved with the pop-up shows organised by Barbara, and was delighted to be one of the artists now showing in Cape Town.
Talking about his own work, Fadiel tells us that his background is the Bo-Kaap and the Cape Flats. From an early age art spoke to his soul and he is thrilled he has been able to make a career of art. He is not classically trained. his use of colour is to suit his soul and to make himself happy. People pick up on that passion and his positivity of being in Cape Town reflected in his work. The vibrancy of Bo-Kaap, its people the women in his life and the crowd around him are his inspiration.
His work, and that of his fellow artists, all add up to a celebratory group exhibition at The Artists Gallery!Â
