Plan Your Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2025 Visit

There are over 100 restaurants and eateries from which to choose in the V&A Waterfront but don’t wait too long to make your choice. Bookings are filling up fast. It is wise to book early to avoid disappointment but if you don’t secure a booking in time food trucks and other venders will be onsite to ensure you don’t go hungry.

Attendees are also encouraged to arrive early to secure the best viewing spots. With so much to do in the V&A Waterfront precinct, spending the day in the neighbourhood before the performances begin is advisable.

Parking is limited and prices will vary based on location. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport, taxis and e-hailing services if possible and keep an eye out for announcements on times for MyCiTi and Prasa train services.

If you do plan to park at the V&A, make sure to consider your parking options for easy exit after the festivities. There are over 12000 open-air and underground parking bays throughout the property. The easiest exits are at Dock Road parking, opposite the Apple iStore, Battery Park and Silo District which are closest to the city and freeways. For the most affordable options, we recommend checking out the various parking areas, as rates may vary depending on location and duration. You can choose to pay for your parking using cash, card, Zapper, SnapScan or EasyPay for your convenience.

Due to the expected traffic conditions, e-hailing services and MyCiti bus routes will operate enhancements and adjusted routes to minimise congestion.

MyCiTi buses will skip Breakwater Boulevard to keep things moving smoothly. Instead, drop-off and pick-up points will be at the Cape Town Stadium on Granger Bay Boulevard as well as the Silo next to the UpCycle bus stations. Currently, buses are scheduled to run until 00:45, but times could be extended.

Uber and other e-Hailing services will redirect drop-offs and pick-ups to the stadium area. City traffic officials will guide the flow as they do for stadium events, and the app will automatically direct you to walk to this area when you request a ride.

“We want to make sure you get home comfortably and safely after celebrating with us, and have thus been engaging with various stakeholders to optimise traffic flow on the evening,” explains Donald Kau, Head of Communications at the V&A Waterfront.

If a child gets separated, they will be escorted to one of the information desks, located on the ground level outside Nespresso and Tasha’s.
