The music of Christopher Culpo is not easily categorized, and ranges through the world of clubs and concert halls, and theater and dance. As a pianist and composer across genres, Culpo lies at the confluence of contemporary jazz, free improvisation, and classical music.

He earned degrees in composition from Boston University and The Juilliard School and has performed at the Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival (Australia); many festivals in France; the Blossoms Festival (Belgium); Le Vie del Suono (Italy); the Radar Festival (Mexico City); the Christchurch Festival (New Zealand) and often in South Africa.

In February 2017 his work for 2 cellos and marimba, An Aberrant Patch of Blue, was premiered in Paris. In April he recorded his composition The Four Freedoms, based on the Norman Rockwell paintings, with his new quartet. He also recorded a record with saxophonist Catherine Sikora in April.

Christopher Culpo has previously performed in Cape Town to high acclaim.
