… Evidence of Things Not Seen at EBONY/CURATED – part of HEAT Winter Arts Festival

New and Recent Work by Balekane Legoabe, Abdesslem Ayed, and Nada Baraka

EBONY/CURATED presents Evidence of Things Not Seen, a group exhibition opening Wednesday, 6 August at their Loop Street gallery, as part of the 2025 HEAT Winter Arts Festival.

Now in its second edition, HEAT offers a city-wide programme that foregrounds independent voices in contemporary art, performance, and experimental practice – supporting small galleries, emerging artists, and cultural producers.

Framed by this year’s curatorial theme, Speculation and Other Worlding, the exhibition brings together new and recent work by Balekane Legoabe, Abdesslem Ayed, and Nada Baraka. Each artist engages speculative practice as a mode of belief – rooted not in fantasy, but in the unseen, the imagined, and the possible.

Alongside the visual arts programme, the festival includes live jazz, opera, and theatre. A series of guided tours and artist conversations will offer further insight into the ideas shaping this generation of practitioners. See full HEAT programme HERE.

INVITE: “Please join us for the official opening on Wednesday 06 August 2025 at 67 Loop Street Cape Town, from 6 pm onwards.”  Get there and ENJOY!
